Your Childhood is Back! Capcom Announces Disney Afternoon Collection

Your Childhood is Back! Capcom Announces Disney Afternoon Collection

For anyone who grew up in the ancient times, the block of animated glory known as the Disney Afternoon was a staple of your childhood after school life. Who among us did not look forward to coming home and catching up with the capers of Chip ‘n Dale’s Rescue Rangers, or take to the skies with Baloo in TaleSpin?

And Capcom was right there, pumping out awesome video game versions of these cartoon classics on the NES.

Now those classics are getting ready to be reintroduced to a new generation of players, thanks to Capcom’s Disney Afternoon Collection!

Remastered in glorious HD, the Disney Afternoon Collection will feature six of Capcom’s finest 8-bit, Disney licensed efforts:

  • Chip ‘n Dale’s Rescue Rangers
  • Chip ‘n Dale’s Rescue Rangers 2
  • Tale Spin
  • Darkwing Duck
  • DuckTales
  • DuckTales 2

In addition to the crisper visuals, the Disney Afternoon Collection will feature a number of modern day amenities.

Players can challenge themselves with Boss Rush and Time Attack modes for each of the included games, while the Disney Museum provides a chance to take a leisurely virtual stroll down memory lane, browsing through a number of pieces of concept art and various digital memento’s.

Capcom’s Disney Afternoon Collection will arrive on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on April 18th for $19.99.

No Nintendo Switch version has been announced, although interestingly, Capcom’s Twitter announcement was quickly inundated with fans hoping for a port to Nintendo’s new hybrid console.
