Turok: Dinosaur Hunter Is Set To Return

Turok: Dinosaur Hunter Is Set To Return

Those of you who have been gaming for the past few decades may remember that during the launch of Nintendo’s N64 system, one of the biggest releases being touted at the time was a first-person shooter called Turok: Dinosaur Hunter.

Whether you remember them or not, both Turok: Dinosaur Hunter and Turok 2: Seeds of Evil are set to return on Steam and a plethora of other digital platforms, courtesy of  a digital restoration that is being handled by Night Dive Studios, who specializes in restoration of classic titles.

Night Dive has handled the digital restoration of a number of games, including the PC classics, System Shock 2, The 7th Guest, and later games in the Wizardry series.

Both Turok: Dinosaur Hunter games were decent titles that received positive reviews at the time, and were regarded as two of the highlights of the N64 library.

Night Dive says that they plan to make Turok: Dinosaur Hunter and Turok 2: Seeds of Evil available on Steam, GOG, and Humble Bundle, as well as through their own website, however they did not disclose a release date as of yet.

Check out some of the Turok: Dinosaur Hunter screenshots down below.

Are you excited to get to play the Turok: Dinosaur Hunter games again? Are you preparing to make your way through the pre-historic jungles for the first time? Will Night Dive retain the classic N64 fog effect that was so prevalent in the original Turok releases? Let us know in the comments section below.
