EVO 2016 Is Going To Be Massive
With EVO 2016 rapidly approaching, tournament CEO Joey Cuellar has revealed the final number of entrants that will be competing in the largest fighting game tournament in the world.
Topping the list is Street Fighter V, which will have an astounding 5107 world warriors vying to be the king of the street fighting mountain.

Super Smash Bros for Wii U is in second place, surprisingly topping the ever-popular Super Smash Bros. Melee, with 2662 players, versus Melee’s 2372.
The wild card of the bunch, Pokken Tournament, comes in next with a respectable 1180 entrants.
Next up is the recently released Guilty Gear Xrd – Revelator – which weighs in with 910 players.
Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 stays strong with 782 players, with Mortal Kombat XL right behind it with 713.
Rounding out the list are Tekken 7: Fated Retribution, which signed 549 players, and Killer Instinct, who has 546.
Daily Dot reporter Steve Jurek posted an interesting comparison on his Twitter feed showing the growth rate of some of the returning titles this year over last. Most notable is the exponential growth of Street Fighter V over last year’s Ultra Street Fighter IV tournament, which only had 2227 players committed to play.
Also interesting is the sharp 39% drop in participation in the Mortal Kombat XL tournament.
