Acclaimed indie game Thomas Was Alone was released November 21st on Xbox One and November 25th on PlayStation 4 and Wii U. The original version was developed and published by Mike Bithell, while the ports are being handled by Curve Digital.

Originally released as a browser based Flash game, Thomas Was Alone is about several artificial intelligences, including the titular Thomas, that have become self-aware. Each AI is represented by a simple shape, such as Thomas as a red rectangle, and players must guide each shape to the end of each level using the other shapes to get them to where they need to go.

Thomas Was Alone was the very first title we published for an indie developer,” Curve Digital Managing Director Jason Perkins said in the game’s press release, “Both Curve and the whole console indie world has come a long way since then, but it’s been great to get back to Thomas and produce brand new versions for those who missed it first time around.”

Current PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita owners of Thomas Was Alone can get the PlayStation 4 version for free, while the Xbox One and Wii U versions of the game come with a free level pack, Benjamin’s Flight.

Thomas Was Alone is available on all current PlayStation platforms, Xbox One, Wii U, Windows PC, Mac OS X, Linux, iOS and Android.

Benjamin’s Flight, which is free on PC and Mac and included in the Wii U and Xbox One versions is available for purchase on all PlayStation platforms. Benjamin’s Flight must be purchased separately on PlayStation due to compatibility issues with the game’s Cross-Buy features.

We hope to have a review of the game prepared soon.
