Nintendo and LINE Corporation have announced a partnership in the mobile game business, co-developing and jointly operating a new game for smart devices: Dr. Mario World.
The new action puzzle game is targeting an early summer 2019 global release, including in Japan and the United States.
Nintendo has been in the mobile games business since 2016 and continues to reach global audiences beyond its dedicated video game platform business. With the success of mobile titles such as Super Mario Run and Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, it’s a fair guess that Dr. Mario World will see the excitement from fans in the lead up to its release.
The price hasn’t been announced, showing only a brief overview as “free to download with optional in-app purchases”.
Meanwhile, Mario Kart Tour, another mobile game planned from Nintendo, is set to launch sometime this summer, missing its original release – March 31, 2019. The Mario Kart mobile experience requires more development time, according to Nintendo.
It remains unclear what kind of content is to be expected from Mario Kart Tour, but we’re keeping our eyes peeled for further announcements in the lead up to summer 2019.

I wanna know more about Dr. Mario World! I was a BIG BIG fan of the original NES one. Their handicap system was great so a veteran could play against a newbie and keep the game tight and close. My biggest hope for Dr. Mario World is some killer competitive play with other folk. Would be boring if it was a single-player only. Another thing is… What can they do to boost the game up a little? Dr. Mario and Dr. Mario 64 were pretty much identical (both were great). So some added gameplay elements would be killer!
