Friends Of Nintendo Humble Bundle Close To Breaking $1 Million

Friends Of Nintendo Humble Bundle Close To Breaking $1 Million

Nintendo fans are apparently pretty hungry for a good deal on indie games.

The latest offering from the folks over at Humble Bundle has risen close to $1 million dollars for charity since going on sale this week

This most recent Humble Bundle grouping offers discounts on a variety of games for Nintendo’s Wii U and 3DS handheld system, including: Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse, Freedom Planet, and a recent RPG that has drawn comparisons to the SNES classic, Earthbound, Citizens of Earth.

Since going on sale this past Wednesday, the Nintendo-themed bundle has drawn just under $970,000 in sales, purchased by over 99,000 different buyers as of this writing.

Humble Bundle offered a similar Nintendo-centric indie bundle last year which earned $757,342 during its seven day run.

For those unfamiliar, Humble Bundle runs weekly specials on themed groups of titles and lets buyers decide how much they want to pay. Shoppers can unlock additional games as part of their bundle by paying more than that week’s average amount spent per buyer, or paying at least a specific amount to unlock an upper tier of titles. The proceeds of each week’s sale are then directed to a rotating charitable organization and buyers can direct how much of their donation goes to the charity, the developers of the games, or to the Humble Bundle organization itself.

You can still pick up the Friends of Nintendo Humble Bundle at the official Humble store.

Are you looking to do some good in the world, while getting a good deal on some games at the same time? Give us your Humble Bundle deeds of valor in the comments section below.
