Blake Stone: Aliens of Gold is a first-person shooter built from the Wolfenstein 3D engine by JAM Productions and published by Apogee Software. It plays very much like its parent title with a few upgrades and a scenery shift, but does it hold up beyond the weight of nostalgia? Buy a candy bar and some ammo as we chase Dr. Goldfire through every single one of his hidden treasure rooms!

Arcania: Gothic 4 – PC
Arcania: Gothic 4 is an action role-playing game that tells of one man’s quest for vengeance. The simplified mechanics may alienate fans of the series’ earlier iterations, but those willing to give it a fair try may find it to be a pretty decent game, if a little obscure by today’s standards.

Some games promise more than they can deliver, which is certainly true with Darkest of Days. Promising freedom and realism while putting invisible walls around you and arming you with automatic weapons, its innovative high headcount character engine ends up being a casualty of bore…dom.

Fallout 3: Game of the Year Edition – PC
War. War never changes. Neither does my love for the massive, beautiful post-apocalypse sandwich that is the Fallout universe, and Fallout 3 in specific. High praise for an imperfect game is forthcoming.
