Mortal Kombat: Unchained – PSP
Midway (and its successors) have always been fans of releasing various updates and ports of Mortal Kombat games. Mortal Kombat: Unchained is one of the most worthy handheld MK games, featuring all of the content from console versions of MK: Deception as well as 6 extra characters, 4 of which are exclusive. Unchained is one of the better titles to add to your PSP library.

Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe – 360
Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe marked a strange turn for the MK franchise, trading in its contemporary sword-and-sorcery setting for something more inline with a comic book crossover. The results are interesting and worth checking out for fans of either franchise, but ultimately, I don’t think it’s an experiment worth repeating.

PaRappa the Rapper was one of the first music and rhythm games of the modern era and this PSP version captures all of its quirkiness, though falls behind in a few other respects.

Toy Story – Sega Genesis
Pixar is known for making some of the best CGI films out there. But what about the games based on their movies? Video game adaptations of movies are notorious for being terrible, but could this be the one exception? The Incredible Crash Dummies – Sega Genesis

Halo 3 – Xbox 360
Halo 3 retains many of the same things that made the first two so great; flawless controls, stellar voice acting, and improved graphics. Unfortunately, the story falls short enough to drag the rest of the game with it. With a rushed plot and underused characters, Halo 3 has enough good qualities to be playable, but don’t expect an exciting conclusion.

Alien Carnage – PC
Alien Carnage is one of the more obscure titles in Apogee Software’s publishing library, and for good reason. With relatively sedate gameplay and a confused identity not helped by the seemingly random choice to name the heroic protagonist “Halloween Harry” (seriously?), this third-party title failed to cash in on the popularity of such titles as Duke Nukem II. Is it better than we’ve given it credit for, or was this game out almost out of fuel to begin with?
