Axiom Verge is Ready for PlayStation 4
Tom Happ, the lone developer behind the upcoming retro themed exploration shooter Axiom Verge announced that the PlayStation 4 version is ready, and will launch on March 31st.
Writing today on the PlayStation Blog, Happ said that he had a tough decision to make regarding whether to release the game now, or wait until other versions were ready.
” When Sony asked me when I wanted to release Axiom Verge, I had a tough decision to make. Should I hold the PS4 version so I can launch it simultaneously with the Vita version? Or should I just launch the PS4 version now? After hearing from so many people who are eagerly looking forward to playing it, I decided just to launch the PS4 version first.”
Happ went on to state that the PlayStation 4 version will be a cross-buy title, so players with a Vita can simply download that version of Axiom Verge when it’s released.
For those unfamiliar, Axiom Verge is an 8-bit style, side-scrolling exploration based shooter that is heavily influenced by the legendary Metroid. It has nine interlocking levels that can be explored in a non-linear fashion, plus an array of unique weapons and items.
Before working full-time on Axiom Verge, Tom Happ worked as a programmer at Petroglyph Games; lending his talents to titles like Grey Goo and the cancelled MOBA, End of Nations.
Axiom Verge will launch on PlayStation 4 on March 31st, and will retail for $19.99.
