New Pokemon Game Rumored for Nintendo Switch
Pokemon Sun and Moon may just be launching today, (November 18) but that doesn’t mean that Nintendo is resting on their laurels.
Multiple sources speaking to gaming outlet Eurogamer have reported that Nintendo is currently working on a Nintendo Switch version of Pokemon, which will based on the themes just being established in Pokemon’s Sun and Moon.
According to the report, the new title, which they report is code-named Pokemon Stars, would act as an enhanced version of Pokemon Sun and Moon – almost like a new generation Pokemon Yellow – and will contain new features and creatures not found in Sun or Moon.
Eurogamer’s sources also report that the new Nintendo Switch Pokemon title will be ready for launch in late 2017.
While we can only take this as rumor for now, it is worth noting that Eurogamer’s sources have been extremely accurate in the past regarding the Nintendo Switch. Sources were able to leak info confirming the hybrid nature of Nintendo’s upcoming console, as well as several other features, a few months prior to Nintendo’s official announcement teaser which debuted last month.
Considering the fact that Pokemon Sun and Moon are just hitting store shelves today, it may be a while before Nintendo confirms whether or not a Nintendo Switch version is incoming; however, the company does plan to host a special event on January 12th which will reveal the official release date, price, and a showcase of titles that will launch with the machine.
