Mortal Kombat X – Android
Mobile apps – especially those offered as a tie-in to existing media – can be a real hit or miss…mostly a miss. However, Mortal Kombat X does a pretty decent job of both relating to the console port and establishing its own identity. It’s not quite perfect, but it is certainly worth a look for fans of the series.

Mortal Kombat: Unchained – PSP
Midway (and its successors) have always been fans of releasing various updates and ports of Mortal Kombat games. Mortal Kombat: Unchained is one of the most worthy handheld MK games, featuring all of the content from console versions of MK: Deception as well as 6 extra characters, 4 of which are exclusive. Unchained is one of the better titles to add to your PSP library.

Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe – 360
Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe marked a strange turn for the MK franchise, trading in its contemporary sword-and-sorcery setting for something more inline with a comic book crossover. The results are interesting and worth checking out for fans of either franchise, but ultimately, I don’t think it’s an experiment worth repeating.
