Ubisoft Reveals New Details for Assassin’s Creed Unity – E3 2014
Ubisoft took the stage during Microsoft’s E3 press conference to reveal some new information and a gameplay demonstration of Assassin’s Creed Unity.
The new edition of the franchise takes place in France in 1789 on the cusp of the French revolution and aims to truly unite players together, giving you the ability to play up to four player co-op in through the campaign.
AC Unity has been built from the ground up for next-gen and is the first in the series to focus on cooperative gameplay, allowing you and up to three others to join in on the single player campaign.
The move to next-gen exclusivity has subsidized the most graphically detailed edition of the long running franchise yet, and has also given the developers the ability to create a massive number of characters on screen at one time, with thousands of individual A.I.’s which will react to player actions.
This was demonstrated during the gameplay demo, which featured a team of four assassins as they wound their way through a riotous mob demonstrating outside of a large palace. The assassins snaked their way through the mob, avoiding detection by the guards, until they finally reached the front gate where they were able to kill the guards who were keeping the mob at bay. The shedding of blood incited the mob, and they reacted by storming the palace gates, creating a long enough distraction to allow the four silent killers to slip into the palace itself.
The video also noted that “randomized elements like guards, locations, paths and rewards would ensure that each new play through is different.”
You will be able to join the revolution yourself on October 28th on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
