Spaera Has All The Pieces To Be A Great Puzzle Game – EVO 2017

Spaera Has All The Pieces To Be A Great Puzzle Game – EVO 2017

It’s inevitable that Blazing Orb’s upcoming puzzle game, Spaera will invite comparisons to the classic, Super Puzzle Fighter – after all, the game is described as a love letter to everything that made Super Puzzle Fighter a legend.

Spaera charts it’s own course by mixing shape-based gameplay of Tetris, with the need to match 3 like-colors together in order to clear pieces from the screen.

The cast of colorful characters help introduce a fighting game aspect to Spaera. Each character comes equipped with their own arsenal of special spells and abilities, which can be unleashed on their opponents during the course of a match.

Spaera will feature a number of multiple modes, including a story mode, online modes, and more.

You can check Spaera out now courtesy of Steam Early Access. Blazing Orb plans for a full release later this year on Steam, with console versions under consideration.

Take a look at VGSpectrum’s Jeff Duis’ interview with the developers of Spaera, as well as some off-screen footage from EVO 2017 last week.
