Housemarque has released the first expansion pack and update for their excellent PlayStation 4 exclusive: Resogun.

Resogun Heroes offers a new world to explore, as well as new modes and enhancements to the original PS4 shooter.

Included in Resogun Heroes will be;

New levels set in a world called Avernus, which pays homage to the gate to the underworld in Greek mythology.

Survival Mode – You have one life to live as you try to find out how long you can survive. Humans will parachute into the level to provide your ship with power-ups like an enhanced shield, turbo speed, and more.

Demolition Mode – You are armed with only a proximity bomb which will recharge after each use. The object is to utilize the shock-wave from the bomb blast to force a wrecking-ball to ricochet around the level and work its magic. Be careful though. That wrecking-ball can also wreck you.

New trophies.

Resogun Heroes follows on the heels of a free update that was released over the weekend which added a ship editor and local co-op play.

Resogun Heroes is available now through the PlayStation online store for $4.99. They are also offering a Season Pass that gives access to future expansion packs for the game as they are released. The Season Pass runs for only $7.99
