Saturday Bioware showed off a new behind the scenes trailer for Mass Effect: Andromeda which showed a few unknown characters, including an unnamed Asari and female human, as well as world and creatures. What gamers didn’t know until Monday afternoon, was that one of the characters shown at the end of said trailer was also the female default for the new protagonist, Ryder.

Micheal Gamble, producer of the Mass Effect Trilogy and the upcoming Mass Effect: Andromeda, confirmed that the female human we saw at the end of the EA Play trailer was indeed, Ryder on Twitter.

While we don’t know that much about Ryder, Bioware did confirm during the EA Play presentation that Andromeda‘s protagonist will be part of a human Pathfinder expedition, working to find a new home for humanity in the Andromeda galaxy.
