JEFF CHECKS OUT THE FOR HONOR BETA

JEFF CHECKS OUT THE FOR HONOR BETA

1/31/2017

This past weekend, I was fortunate enough to get an invite from my friend Dave at Nerdbacon.com to check out one of my most anticipated games of the year: For Honor.

As soon as I saw this game at E3, I was psyched. I am a sucker for medieval style combat games. Games like Mount & BladeChivalryWar of the RosesWar of the Vikings and so on. So seeing a game with that aesthetic from a big company like Ubisoft had me excited. So excited, I ended up doing two live streams.

Here is part 1 after a few beers earlier in the evening:

…and part 2 after a good night’s sleep:

As you can (hopefully) see, I was able to get the hang of it near the end. This game is so much different from other multiplayer offerings out there and that’s what excites me. It’s not a run-and-gun shooter, it’s not a MOBA.

I really like how the game looks, how it methodically plays, and I LOVE the fact that there is loot! Not only does this loot have cosmetic changes, but it also has gameplay effects. I love loot in multiplayer games because not only does it add that “carrot-on-a-stick” to keep going and see what you can get next, but you can also look badass while playing.

I really enjoyed my time with the beta and can not wait until the full game launches February 14th for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. There will also be an Open Beta on all systems from February 9th – 12th. For Honor is a very unique title that is going to stand out from the crowd and be an enjoyably brutal time.
