Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival Coming This Holiday Season – E3 2015

Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival Coming This Holiday Season – E3 2015

Who wants a relaxed casual Animal Crossingthemed board game? Nintendo clearly thinks we do. Later this year, at least closer to the holiday season, the Wii U will be receiving an Animal Crossing board game-styled experience called Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival.

This go around, instead of destroying your own town and chatting with your weirdly anthropomorphic animal neighbors, you will be rolling dice to move to individual spaces around a board in order to collect the most happiness. When you land on a certain space, an event will occur that will effect your happiness or your Bells (Animal Crossing currency) such as bumping into another player or having a video game tournament.

There are also a variety of special events that have been revealed such as fortunes from Katrina, a roulette wheel, as well as visits from other characters from the Animal Crossing series. It appea0rs that these visits can have many different outcomes depending on their interactions with each character.

The largest news alongside Amiibo Festivals announcement is that more amiibos have been announced, including eight of Animal Crossing characters which will work with Amiibo Festival. So far, those from the Animal Crossing franchise consist of: K.K. Slider, Mable Able, Isabelle, Tom Nook, Lottie, Cyrus, Reese, and Digby. Amiibo Festival will require an amiibo to play, but Amiibo Festival‘s compatibility with all currently released non-Animal Crossing amiibos has yet to be confirmed.

While many Animal Crossing fans have been eagerly waiting for another entry to add to their collections, for now this looks like what they will be getting. Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival will be released on the Wii U during the 2015 holiday season.

Hey though, at least there will also be another set for you amiibo collectors out there. I know our resident amiibo collector will jump on all of these.
