The Witness, a puzzle-adventure game on the PlayStation 4, ultimately succeeds as a timeless and engaging game due to an atmosphere created by excellent puzzle design, art direction, and sound direction that keeps the player wanting to find out more. Very few games these days are able to instill a legitimate sense of adventure and wonder, and The Witness manages to do just that at every turn.
