8th Generation News

Here’s a smattering of info The Cubist dug up regarding the soon-to-be in full swing 8th generation of gaming. Some of it’s good, some of it’s bad, and some of it is, well, just a little odd.

What to Look Forward to This Christmas Season!

Well, we all know that the Sony Playstation 4 and Microsoft Xbox One are on the way and the Nintendo Wii U is currently going strong. With Christmas on the way, all of the major software developers are working feverishly to complete these games so that moms and dads across the nation can wrap these little blue, green, and white disc cases and place them under your big green Christmas tree. It’s an exciting time for a kid, as some of the best games ever are discovered for the first time under said Christmas tree.

Rush 2 – N64

Rush 2, the sequel to San Francisco Rush, offers up incredible racing action and a gnarly stunt track!

With all of that being said, you’d think I would have been happy and pleased with Cruis’n USA and the ability to now play it at home without having to pump quarter after quarter into it, right? Unfortunately no! Actually, HELL NO!

Mario Pinball Land – GBA

NerdBacon cofounder The Cubist reviews one of the more interesting Mario spin-off titles, Mario Pinball Land for Game Boy Advance.

GameBooster

NerdBacon cofounder NerdBerry reviews the horrendous unlicensed Game Boy to N64 converter known as the GameBlunder. We mean, GameBooster.

Nintendo e-Reader

e-Reader user interface.

Late in 2002 (2001 in Japan), Nintendo would release an interesting add-on for the Game Boy Advance (GBA) known as the e-Reader. At first glance, the term “e-Reader” may evoke thoughts of Kindles, Nooks, and other such electronic reading devices, but back then the “reader” part of the name referred to the device’s ability to read codes printed on cards.
