Mario Kart 8 Version 4.1 Update – Wii U
Mario Kart 8 gets yet another update! Version 4.1 gives players the chance to play at the 200cc difficulty and experience Mirror Mode from the beginning; no unlocking necessary!
Mario Kart 8 Version 2.0 (DLC) – Wii U
Mario Kart 8, ver. 2.0, introduced several subtle fixes and features that the fans had been requesting since release, including an onscreen map. Released alongside Version 2.0 was the Mercedes-Benz DLC and optional color palettes for Yoshi and Shy Guy.
Mario Kart 8 Version 4.0 DLC – Wii U
The latest update to Mario Kart 8, rebranding the game as Mario Kart 8 Version 4.0, completes the duo of DLC packages that went on sale back in August of 2014. For those who purchased the DLC, this Animal Crossing pack includes 3 new characters, 4 new karts, and 4 reworked courses plus 4 brand new courses spread across 2 new cups. For those who can handle it, a special 200cc difficulty level has been added as well!

Nintendo’s Big Night – The Game Awards 2014
Nintendo proved today something that I feel many people forgot, they proved that they have been in this industry for a long time and not only are they not going anywhere, but they are still one of the biggest powerhouses in the industry. While Nintendo does many stupid things, they also release some of the greatest and most uniting video games currently in existence. Even the most casual or competitive gamers (even my grandfather who isn’t into gaming) can get together and enjoy a nice match of Super Smash Bros or an intense race in Mario Kart. Nintendo games are truly timeless classics, and I feel like I speak for nearly everyone when I say Nintendo, please don’t change.

The latest update to Mario Kart 8, officially rendering it “ver. 3.0,” adds 3 new characters, 4 new karts, and 8 new courses. Additions include Link, courses themed with elements from F-Zero, Excitebike, and The Legend of Zelda. An unquestionably worthwhile update to anyone’s Mario Kart 8 experience!
