We’ve been covering a lot of Wario lately, haven’t we? From his very first appearance in Super Mario Land 2 to Wario Land 4, and counting. But there’s something missing. A piece that hasn’t been covered yet. With mounting pressure to review sequels back in August, Nerd Bacon’s ZB skipped over the first Mario Land in favor of Super Mario Land 2. Now it’s time to finally tackle a game he’s been anxious to work on since before Nerd Bacon celebrated its two-year anniversary. That’s right folks, it’s Super Mario Land for Game Boy.

When you see the name “Mario” in any setting, you instantly think of Nintendo’s mascot. He has permanently secured himself a spot at the highest point in video game history, and when you go to purchase a Mario game, you know you’re getting top-shelf quality. So is there any need to gush over a title such a Super Mario Land 2 when you already know it’s going to be good?
