Snoop Dogg coming exclusively to PlayStation 4
The PlayStation 4 will be receiving plenty of exclusive love this year in the form of a multitude of Japanese titles, first party releases, and DLC deals for popular third party games. In the latest news on the console wars, it appears that the patronage of the Doggfather himself, Snoop Dogg, will also be coming exclusively to PlayStation, very soon, according to a recent Instagram video.

“A message to Xbox One or Microsoft, or whoever the fuck, ya’ll’ fucking server is fucking whack, man,” the rapper says after a short, but obviously frustrating Xbox Live outage. I’m disappointed we didn’t get a full Xbox diss track produced by Dre, but the short but sweet rant said enough. Snoop goes on to threaten, “yall gonna make me switch to PlayStation,” but reuploaded the video a second time with a more concrete “PS4 here we come” and “we done with Xbox” as a caption.
PlayStation Network and Xbox Live have both recently had short outages, so we hope Snoop won’t be similarly displeased when PSN collapses for a few hours on a random occasion. However, it’s rather apparent that Snoop is a huge fighting game fan, having appeared in Def Jam: Fight for New York, featuring a Street Fighter 2 reference in the track “Santa Claus Goes Straight To The Ghetto,” recording a song for Tekken Tag Tournament 2, and even having his own stage and likeness featured in that same game. Perhaps the latest Xbox Live outage was the straw that broke the camel’s back, and Snoop Doggy Dogg had been eyeing the PlayStation 4 since he’d heard Street Fighter V, Guilty Gear Xrd, exclusive Tekken 7 content and King of Fighters XIV are only available on Sony’s console. A man of his means likely has a large television, so maybe the resolution difference between the two systems has been what’s frustrating him. Who knows?
Snoop is an avid social media poster, so expect to see or hear about his PlayStation purchase soon, which will mean the PlayStation Nation will be playing alongside the Doggfather. With 36 million other PS4 owners around, the chances you’ll run into him randomly during a ranked match in the upcoming Street Fighter V is slim, but he’s been known to give out his online username when he’s looking for a challenge in Madden or other titles. Just know if you play “DoggyStyle420” online and get wrecked NWA style, you might have just played a celebrity, or more likely, some random 16-year-old dude.
