Harmonix announces new playable realm “The Capsule” for Fantasia Music Evolved
Harmonix has released a new trailer showing the new realm for their upcoming title Disney fantasia Music Evolved. Named “The Capsule”, the gameplay takes place in a modular space station and features the music of Elton John’s “Rocket Man” and Peter Gabriel’s “In Your Eyes” as well as a monkey in a full cosmonaut getup. We at Nerd Bacon are not aware of any possible links between these things.
Taking the name “Music Evolved” to heart, the new playable realm starts as a broken and shutdown space station with a rather depressed looking primate, Harmonix blog describing it as “a lone astronaut monkey who is cut off from all forms of communication,” and by playing through the music and exploring The Capsule, players will be able to power up and activate the various modules and sections of the station.
“What begins as a claustrophobic, deactivated space station, transforms into a fully-powered, living machine as players perform “In Your Eyes” and “Rocket Man.”

While we’re still trying to figure out how Space Stations, Monkey Cosmonauts, Elton John, or Peter Gabriel fit in with Disney or Fantasia, the gameplay is looking quite engaging and breaks up the repetition of music games like Guitar hero and Rock Band while expanding upon the interface of Dance Central. Let’s be honest, Fantasia had ballerina Hippo’s, Bucket carrying mops, and Devil fighting cherubs, so we’re really not surprised to have the content be a bit all over the place. Also standing out is that this is the first trailer showing the inclusion of none classical or instrumental music as were seen in The Hallow and The Haven trailers, displaying how some of these pop/rock songs announced at PAX will be used.
We were hoping for AC/DC’s “Highway to Hell”, but we’re not certain it will make it passed the targeted E rating. What other songs would you want to see featured in a fully explorable and interactive environment? Leave us a comment below and let us know.
