Sidemeat – 10th Slice
Ten issues into Sidemeat – is that a whole package yet? – and we get to my lengthy assessment of One Tree Hill, one of the longest running teen dramas ever.

Trip #1 – Manson
Check out my first discography trip: a journey through the major (and some minor) works of Marilyn Manson, right up through 2015.

Sidemeat – 9th Slice
Here’s a tuna salad most people have never heard of. It’s best described as “ranch tuna salad,” and the ingredients might seem a little strange, but it all comes together in an unexpected way. Even if the recipe seems weird, tuna salad fans should definitely give it a shot.

Sidemeat – 8th Slice
Check out my marginally famous recipe for macaroni and cheese! It sports an amazing combination of 7 cheeses: cheddar, gruyere, fontina, parmesan, asiago, sharp provolone, and pecorino! Oh, and did I mention it has…bacon…?

Sidemeat – 7th Slice
Lost is one of my favorite TV shows, but with such intricately woven storylines, it’s easy to spot things that have slipped through the cracks. I’ve grown more forgiving of these mistakes after repeat viewings, but like any show, it still has its ups and downs. Stop by and tell us how you feel as well!

Sidemeat – 6th Slice
This Slice of Sidemeat takes a moment to reflect on the sublimely absurd “Turn Down For What,” and the surreal accompanying video.
-
Sidemeat – 5th Slice
This slice of Sidemeat looks at the 2014 crime thriller The Bag Man. A simple task – get the bag – turns into a dark comedy of errors, imbued with both the lurid overtones of Tarantino and the slippery, ephemeral lucidity of Lynch. Does it all add up?

Sidemeat – 4th Slice
Digging deep into nerdom, I take a look a deck I created for Magic the Gathering which I dubbed Eldrazi Family Reunion. The idea was to use as many Eldrazi as possible along with a basic Tooth and Nail strategy to put them on the field quickly. Anyone interested in MtG or those that might have enough card knowledge to answer some of my questions should definitely give this a read!

Sidemeat – 3rd Slice
Television has come a long way in the last several years, with many critics and actors alike seeing the medium as more expressive and less limiting than film. While almost every major and cable network has had a success or two over the past 10 to 15 years, the trend began on premium channels who weren’t afraid to push the envelope. The Sopranos was one of the first of such shows to come along, yet I can’t help but wonder why it’s so often hailed as one of the greatest shows ever.

Sidemeat – 2nd Slice
Lots of movies attempt to give time travel a try, so what not alternate realities? Coherence uses just this theoretical concept to hold together a simple but effective film, part thriller, part sci-fi.

Sidemeat – 1st Slice
I’m not a huge fan of indie rock in general, though Strange Desire’s blend of layered electronica, sincere indie attitude, and a revitalized take on 80’s nu-wave all comes together in a magnificent way. This music may not be for everyone, but it’s sure to resonate strongly with those who enjoy the odd synergy that Bleacher has achieved.
-
Love/Hate – Blackout in the Red Room
A truly forgotten Hair Metal classic, Love/Hate’s Blackout in the Red Room is a relentless sleaze album with track after track of pounding tunes. This album may be forgotten by some, but now’s the time to start remembering the good times. Sex, Drugs, Rock’n Roll.

Issue #98: Bile – Biledegradable
Join Nerd Bacon co-founder The Cubist as he takes a short break from video games to talk about his favorite albums from the 1990s! Issue #98 is my first look at Bile, with their strange, seemingly “anti-music” album, Biledegradable.
