Beating & Reviewing Battletoads for Genesis! – VIDEO – MarMax Gaming

Welcome to MarMax Gaming as featured on Nerd Bacon! Be sure to subscribe to MarMax Gaming on YouTube for more videos and exciting insight into some of the world’s hardest and rarest games! First off, congratulations to you Mr./Mrs. Audience for finding your way to MarMax Gaming’s featured articles on Nerd Bacon. Give yourself a pat on the back. You should be proud. Today’s official Nerd Bacon feature is Battletoads for the Sega Genesis, a game renowned for its extreme and unrelenting difficulty!

Battletoads is a challenging 1-2 player beat ’em up that lures gamers in with eye catching visuals and gnarly music. It was released in 1991 for multiple platforms including NES, Genesis, and even Game Boy. The team of toads caught the eyes of many, but very few could make it past its notorious 3rd stage, Turbo Tunnel. Only the most dedicated and punishment-seeking warriors would ever make it through its 12 daunting stages; 9 of which catapult you into gaming insanity.

Today, to change things up, we will take a full in-depth look at the 16-bit port for Sega Genesis. The opportunity to iron out a couple wrinkles such as providing a few difficulty settings, allowing unlimited continues, and tightening up controls evidently weren’t on the developers list – so how does it play and how does it compare to its NES cousin? Let’s plow this thing and find out!
