Home Alone – NES
Back in the 1990s, it wasn’t unusual for companies to take anything vaguely marketable to kids and turn it into a video game. Cartoons, movies, toy lines, and everything in between were often crafted into video games of questionable quality. Home Alone is yet another “fine” example of how bad a video game can get.

Trip #3 – Blink-182
Blink-182 has had one of the most distinguished careers of any punk band, rising from lo-fi skatepunk to the undisputed gods of pop punk. Turmoil within the band led to break ups, side projects, reunions, and some experimental work that eschewed all notions of punk. Join me on my 3rd Discography Trip, this time through Blink’s varied and complex catalog!

Kid Icarus – NES
Often overlooked but remembered as a cult classic by some, the original Kid Icarus deserves a spot amid the best NES games of all time. Challenging? Yes. But it’s also a lot of fun and creates one of the most imaginative and creative atmospheres in the 8-bit world.

Sidemeat – 14th Slice
The first ABCs of Death anthology was an uneven collection of shorts at best, but ABCs of Death 2 ups the quality considerably with a number of chilling, unnerving, and downright bizarre worthwhile segments. Take a look and see how I ranked all 26 of them!

Sidemeat – 13th Slice
VHS Viral is the third anthology in the VHS series, though this one takes a bit of a departure from the first 2. Check it out and tell us what you think!

Sidemeat – 12th Slice
Ever gotten yelled at by your better half for looking at porn? Have a hard time putting your side into words? Have an even harder time getting her to accept it? Don Jon takes a look at this all too common problem in the information age and offers a surprisingly accurate look at the male perspective.

Sidemeat – 11th Slice
Quentin Tarantino once cited his favorite film of 1997 as Chasing Amy….of all the films from 1997, I was shocked! So I took the opportunity to run down the list of mainstream releases in ’97, examining not only what I would think he’d prefer over Chasing Amy, but analyzing my own favorites from the year as well.

Monster Party – NES
Monster Party has got to be one of the quirkiest games for the original NES. With a bizarre premise and storied past involving edits, censorship, and copyright infringement, it may just be one of the more popular obscure games. It’s not quite perfect, but NES fans owe it to themselves to give this offbeat platformer a playthrough.

Sidemeat – 10th Slice
Ten issues into Sidemeat – is that a whole package yet? – and we get to my lengthy assessment of One Tree Hill, one of the longest running teen dramas ever.

Trip #1 – Manson
Check out my first discography trip: a journey through the major (and some minor) works of Marilyn Manson, right up through 2015.

Sidemeat – 9th Slice
Here’s a tuna salad most people have never heard of. It’s best described as “ranch tuna salad,” and the ingredients might seem a little strange, but it all comes together in an unexpected way. Even if the recipe seems weird, tuna salad fans should definitely give it a shot.

Sidemeat – 8th Slice
Check out my marginally famous recipe for macaroni and cheese! It sports an amazing combination of 7 cheeses: cheddar, gruyere, fontina, parmesan, asiago, sharp provolone, and pecorino! Oh, and did I mention it has…bacon…?
