ZeRo and Armada Headline Super Smash Bros. Invitational – E3 2018

ZeRo and Armada Headline Super Smash Bros. Invitational – E3 2018

Some of the biggest names in the competitive Smash scene are set to run Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo Switch through its paces.

EVO 2017 Melee champ, Armada joins MangO, Plup, Mr. R, and the recently retired ZeRo for the Super Smash Bros Invitational at E3 2018.

The event is designed as a high-level exhibition of the latest Super Smash Bros. title from top Smash talent from around the world. Interestingly, many of these players, like Armada and MangO are known for their prowess in 2001’s Super Smash Bros Melee, a game that is actually more active in the competitive fighting game scene than the Wii U iteration that released in 2014.

The Super Smash Bros. Invitational will be part of Nintendo’s E3 2018 festivities, and will be streamed live on June 12th immediately following the conclusion of another competitive gaming event Nintendo is hosting – The Splatoon 2 World Championship.

It will be interesting to find out out these competitive titans think about the next title in the Smash series. Will it be an extension of Super Smash Bros for Wii U? Or will it harken back to the faster gameplay style that made Melee so beloved?

We’ll all find out together on June 12th! NerdBacon will be simulcasting the event with live reactions and commentary on our Twitch channel, twitch.tv/nerdbacon, so be sure to tune in and watch the fun!
