Can you believe that Shantae has been belly-dancing into our hearts for a whopping 14 years?

It’s true! The world’s most beloved platforming genie got her start on the Gameboy Color back in 2002 in Shantae: Risky Boots, and has continued delighted fans with her colorful, off-the-wall adventures ever since.

This year those adventures are set to continue in, Shantae: 1/2 Genie Hero.

This new E3 2016 trailer showcases Shantae: 1/2 Genie Hero’s advancing art style. The 2D sprites look more polished than ever and an element of 3D has been added into the backgrounds for added depth.

The result is Shantae’s most visually appealing title yet, a natural evolution which keeps the series feeling fresh, despite its surprising age.

Shantae: 1/2 Genie Hero will be arriving in the fall of 2016 across most digital platforms. (sorry Xbox One) A physical release will be available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, and Wii U for the purists out there.
