Farpoint’s PS VR Aim Controller Could Be Perfect For FPS Fans – E3 2016

Farpoint’s PS VR Aim Controller Could Be Perfect For FPS Fans – E3 2016

A problem, for those eagerly awaiting the moment that they can slip on a PlayStation VR and escape into the latest First-Person-Shooter, how do you effectively mow down enemy horde’s with a dinky physical controller?

Virtual Reality offers a promise of unparalleled realism, but when you’re forced to hold a traditional controller, that immersion can be lost.

Fortunately, the folks over at Impulse Gear may have a solution.

While working on their upcoming Virtual Reality FPS, Farpoint, the team came up with a nifty little device called the PS VR Aim Controller.

This peripheral is shaped like the basic outline of a firearm, however look a little closer and you will find an innovative combination of a Dual Shock 4, with the precise movement of a PlayStation Move controller.

This allows the player to perform amazingly accurate and natural movements, while adding to the sense of immersion that will envelope the player when they strap on a PlayStation VR.

As for the game for which this neat little piece of tech was developed – Farpoint drops the player on an alien world filled with dangerous enemies, and a huge spider-crab-like monster.

It’s probably best that you just watch the trailer, and then start imagining the possibilities of what it’s going to be like to experience Farpoint and the PS VR Aim Controller on the PlayStation VR.

What do you think of the idea of the PS VR Aim Controller? Does it look like the solution for which you’ve been waiting? Or, is it just going to be another extra gaming controller that winds up in your closet? Let us know in the comments section below.
