Love Is Cruel – For Honor To Release On Valentines Day -E3 2016

Love Is Cruel – For Honor To Release On Valentines Day -E3 2016

Last year, Ubisoft surprised us with footage from the multiplayer mode of a thoughtful melee combat game called, For Honor.

This year, Ubisoft has returned, this time showcasing the story behind the single-player portion of the game.

First a recap – For Honor features lets you choose to fight as part of three different classes, Samurai, Viking, and Knight, all against the backdrop of massive set-piece battles. Imagine that you were one of the foot soldiers the movie, Braveheart, and you will get the general idea.

The combat in For Honor appears far more involved than the mindless hack ‘n slash gameplay you would find in a title like Dynasty Warriors. Instead, For Honor forces you to think about your moves, plan ahead, and make the perfect strike. The impression I got from last year’s demo was very reminiscent of Square’s classic, Bushido Blade.

What we learned this year was that a cataclysm has left the Earth in a ruinous state, with only the three above-named factions left to fight over the remaining resources of the beleaguered planet, while creating an experience that invokes the art of battle.

Check out the For Honor demo from Ubisoft’s E3 2016 conference and then get your warrior spirit ready to show some love.

For Honor Will be released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on February 24th, 2017.
