Minecraft is Going Holographic – E3 2015

Minecraft is Going Holographic – E3 2015

No, you read that right. Minecraft is quite literally going to be holographic in the near future and its going to be epic!  At their E3 2015 press conference, Microsoft brought their HoloLens to the stage to show off all the possibilities for the VR device. What better game to show off holographic VR tecnology than Minecraft?

On the E3 stage, Microsoft used a special camera that displayed what Saxs Persson from Microsoft Studios was seeing through his HoloLens. Persson’s then proceeded to play Minecraft with Lydia Winters who played as a user normally would, on a computer. The display was entirely virtual, making it so you don’t even really need a monitor to run Minecraft anymore. Persson manipulated the world by interacting with the world provided by the HoloLens.

The HoloLens Minecraft demo definitely felt like something out of a Sci-fi movie but it is as real as real can be. Today has made me even more excited for the future of VR than I already was.

Even if you are not a fan of Minecraft you should check out the video down below; you will be impressed, I swear:
