New Assassin’s Creed Game to Be Announced Next Week

Assassin's Creed Reveal

Bludgeoning someone to death with a cane and brass knuckles is apparently a thing now.

Late last year, Nerd Bacon reported on some images that were leaked by Kotaku that featured an Assassin’s Creed game that was dubbed “Victory.” The game that was leaked is reportedly set in Victorian London and is being developed by Ubisoft Quebec. At the time of the leak, Ubisoft refused to give any more information but stated to IGN that, “We’re excited to officially unveil what the studio has been working on at a later date.”

Well, today is that date.

Ubisoft announced on May 7th on their official twitter that they would be revealing the next Assassin’s Creed game on Tuesday, May 12th at 9 AM PDT (12 PM EDT). The tweet that was posted by Ubisoft contained a mysterious image (left) of what can be assumed is the new protagonist and the caption, “oppression has to end.”

The tweet in question then links to the Assassin’s Creed website. The page to RSVP for the event (that will get you a bonus fan pack) has a solitary set of brass knuckles as well as cryptic messages carved into the wood surrounding it. If you have your audio turned on, you can clearly hear the sounds of chatter, trains, and a bell (probably from a certain iconic clock tower). Based on all of the clues given by Ubisoft, it’s pretty clear that what will be revealed on Tuesday will be the same game that was teased in December.

The timing of this reveal probably is not a coincidence. With E3 coming up next month, Ubisoft is probably looking to generate some buzz about this game beforehand. I would be deeply shocked if this game was not featured during Ubisoft’s press conference or on the expo’s floor.

After heated criticism of the functionality of Unity, Ubisoft needs to deliver strongly on this upcoming game. All things considered, this game does show a lot of promise and could potentially be a really great game.

Are you guys excited for the big “Victory” reveal? Or is it time for Ubisoft to take a bit of a breather from the Assassin’s Creed franchise? Let us know what you think down in the comments!
