EA Announces EA Access: Online Service
EA has announced that they are partnering with Microsoft to launch a new online subscription based service; EA Access, for the Xbox One later this year.
The new service, which will run $4.99 a month, will offer players direct access to past and current EA titles, as well as give them a chance to try upcoming games before they launch.
EA Access will include:
- The “Vault” – A collection of EA games available on demand for the Xbox One. The Vault will debut with four titles; Battlefield 4, Peggle 2, Madden NFL 25, and FIFA 14.
- Early access to demos – Members will be able to try out demos of EA titles up to five days before their release. EA verified that demos will be available for the upcoming Madden NFL 15, FIFA 15, NBA LIVE 15, NHL 15, and Dragon Age Inquisition. Progress made while playing the demos will carry over to the full title after purchase.
- Discounts on EA games – Members will get a 10% discount on digital content offered through the Xbox One online store.
EA Access will be priced at $4.99 per month. An annual subscription will also be available for $29.99.
Memberships to EA Access will be available for purchase online, through Xbox Live, or through retailers such as GameStop.
No official date has been announced for the full launch of the service.
As of right now, EA Access has only been confirmed for Xbox One.
