With the rumors of a new revision to the Nintendo Switch out in the open now, it’s always fun as gamers to make a wish list of games we would like to see on a more powerful console.

I have complied a list of games that I think would make great additions to the Nintendo Switch Pro library with this new revision. For the purposes of this article, I am only choosing third party titles, since all of Nintendo’s properties would be fair game here. Yes I would love to see a new Luigi’s Mansion, we all would. Even though I would say a new Animal Crossing game would be a slam dunk here, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see that in a bundled form with the NEW Nintendo Switch Pro. (No idea what the revised system will be called, just throwing out names)

5. Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Siege

The game that seems to always be there. After all this time, Siege is still extremely popular and free content updates come out on a regular basis. Personally, I booted this game up on PC the past couple days and had no problems finding a game.

Not only does this make sense from a “hey, people are playing this game, let’s have MORE people play this game” standpoint, but Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot had this to say about Rainbow Six: Siege on the current Nintendo Switch:

“[It’s] not possible with the technical constraint and especially the frame rate of the game; 60 frames per second plus destruction is a bit CPU heavy and Switch is not yet the Nintendo console where it’ll be.”

It’s the “not yet” that catches my attention. We know that Yves and Ubisoft love the Nintendo Switch and love working with Nintendo. As such, I see no reason that Rainbow Six: Siege couldn’t or wouldn’t work on the rumored extra powerful Nintendo Switch Pro.

4. Phantasy Star Online 2

I’m usually good for a speculation out of left field, so let’s get crazy with a game that, if you don’t live in Japan, may not know actually exists.

Phantasy Star Online 2 is the sequel to the critically acclaimed and cult classic MMO. I remember spending many, MANY hours with the original on the Dreamcast, and a version came out for the Nintendo Gamecube.

As of now, PSO2 is only available in Japan, though it can be played in the States via a bit of work and a handy English translation patch, and yes, I have done that. Worth noting, PSO2 is playable on the current Nintendo Switch in Japan, so it is possible, even on current hardware. What better way to appease fans here in the West with not only a proper English release, but also making it playable on Nintendo’s shiny new console revision?

I should really play more of this like NOW…

3. Starfield

I know, this game doesn’t exist yet, but listen to me.

Bethesda RPG’s work on the current Switch, which we saw with Skyrim, and Bethesda did put Fallout Shelter on the current hardware, so we know they like what they see with the current hardware.

Starfield wouldn’t work with the current power, however. Or, at the very least, it would be the far inferior version compared to PC, Xbox and Playstation.

With Starfield, Bethesda is starting their next phase of RPG’s, sort of like how Marvel has their “Phases” in the Cinematic Universe. Sure, we are getting a new Fallout game and a new Rage game, but Starfield is the beginning of a new era with a new IP, and makes total sense to include a more powerful version of a console they already have a lot of experience with.

2. Kingdom Hearts III

Perhaps you’ve heard of it.

Kingdom Hearts III has been a hotly anticipated game ever since players first played through KHII on the PS2. After countless amounts of spin-offs, remakes, collections and unnecessarily weird subtitles, we are finally counting to three.

After finally seeing gameplay, we know how gorgeous this game looks and how great it will look on those fancy 4K units you rich folk have (see: jealous).

While it may not look QUITE AS GOOD, even on the new hardware, you can’t overlook the appeal of taking Kingdom Hearts III with you in a portable fashion. Fans of the series are going to get WAY into this new entry, so giving it the extra power PLUS the convenience of portability and the fact that this game will be printing money makes this a no-brainer to me.

1. Overwatch

No question as to what tops my list here, and not just because I am a Diamond level Lucioball player, step to me!

Since its release, Overwatch has become an institution not only in the First-Person Shooter genre but in the eSports world. The Overwatch League is on an unimaginable rise and is helping more and more players become familiar with the wonder and intricacies of Overwatch. This is one of the biggest games of the year and belongs on the rumored Nintendo Switch Pro.

What wonderful timing too! Recently it was announced that Diablo III will be on the current version of the Switch, so to me, this seems like Blizzard seeing what the Switch can handle, both now and with a revision.

Overwatch is a gaming sensation that’s only getting better and bigger and a version on the rumored new Nintendo Switch seems like something that NEEDS to happen.

Of course, all of this is pure speculation since this new Nintendo Switch Pro is merely a rumor right now, but with the Switch being such a unique console to begin with, it’s fun to think of games that can flourish on a more powerful console/handheld hybrid.
