Heroes Will Battle – First Look At Injustice 2 Gameplay – E3 2016

Heroes Will Battle – First Look At Injustice 2 Gameplay – E3 2016

We got a teaser of Injustice 2 a little over a week ago, when NetherRealms released the announcement trailer for their super hero brawler.

Lucky for us, series creator, Ed Boon was kind enough to stop by IGN’s interview booth at E3 2016 to show off some actual gameplay for the game.

Boon said that the team was excited to include a number of fighters such as Super Girl, Atrocitus, and Gorilla Grodd, who didn’t make it into the original.

Injustice 2 will feature a unique loot drop system that will allow you to personalize your fighters with a treasure-trove of items that will change the way that fighter handles. Boon said that there were tens of thousands of combinations possible, which would make it a rare occurrence for two players to encounter the exact same version of a character.

When questioned as to how these items would impact the burgeoning tournament scene, Boon told IGN that they would have a mode in Injustice 2 in which the upgrades did not  take effect.

Super moves will return and have more interactivity.

QTE button presses performed at just the right time will increase the damage that these super moves cause. In typical NetherRealm fashion, these commands will not be documented by Boon and the Injustice 2 team, thus leaving players to discover these secrets on their own.

Injustice 2 already has a much higher visual quality over its predecessor, which had been developed with the previous generation of consoles in mind.

Take a look at a couple of matches and the interview in the video down below.

Injustice 2 will be out for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in 2017.
