Here’s A Look At Sonic Forces In Action – E3 2017

Here’s A Look At Sonic Forces In Action – E3 2017

We’ve seen a little bit of Sonic Mania, the classically styled tribute to the Genesis era of Sonic greatness already, however, we haven’t seen a whole lot yet on the other Sonic the Hedgehog title coming out in 2017: Sonic Forces.

Luckily, IGN has posted 7 minutes of new footage of Sonic Forces in action, directly from E3 2017.

Sonic Forces appears to have a mixture of elements from the 3D versions of Sonic, as well as his classic 2D outings.

The first portion of the video shows Sonic blazing through a detailed town level, dispatching baddies along the way. A targeting system pops up, which allows Sonic to lock-on and dash attack his enemies. This lock on feature looks like a solution to keeping the action faced-paced and moving forward, without having to make the player stop to take out enemies.

The 3D sections transition later on into a more familiar, side-scrolling approach. Sonic even goes head-to-head with the nefarious Dr. Eggman at the climax of the Sonic Forces demo level.

The first level shows Sonic Forces running on a PlayStation 4 Pro, while the lower video from Nintendo World Report TV shows the same level being run on via the Nintendo Switch version of the game.

Hopefully Sonic Forces will continue to take shape and provide a quality outing for the Sonic franchise. After all, it would be pretty amazing if you had a good Sonic game, an awesome new Mario game, a Legend of Zelda game, Crash, and Metroid all out in the same year!

What did you think of the Sonic Forces footage? Let us know in the comments section below.
